Conventional Medicine

Conventional medicine relies largely on surgery, pharmaceutical products, and, at times, invasive treatments.

Conventional veterinary medicine has many strengths, such as the use of sophisticated diagnostics (e.g. bloodwork, x-rays, biopsy, MRI/CT scan), rapid action to treat acute conditions (e.g. infections), perform surgery and provide acute life-saving emergency care, such as transfusions and other interventions. This form of medicine also provides preventative veterinary care in the form of vaccinations, routine dentistry and parasite control. At the end of life, conventional medicine can provide compassionate hospice care for the geriatric pet and perform comfortable, humane euthanasia to end suffering.
